The government has expedited rescue operations to reach stranded people in Uttarakhand but over 60,000 people still remain trapped in flood-affected areas with food and medical supplies running low.

Those rescued gave startling accounts of the ground realities and one of the lucky few rescued is Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who shared his experience with CNN-IBN. “The experience was really bad as we never thought something like this could really happen to us,” said the spinner, who was trapped in Joshimath for two to three days.
